This is a powerful movie which grippingly portrays the perseverance of the human spirit. The plot centers around a man named Darius Blackmon who is living in his car along with his wife Josey and two children. The children continue to go to school although the boy is stealing lunches in order to eat and the daughter is changing clothes with a friend. Another couple, Scott and Kathy Barnes, are friends who are on the streets too but soon a blessing comes their way and they are able to move to a motel while the Blackmons continue to live in their car. The Blackmons have growing struggles and one day Josey weeps as she tells her family she wasn't hired at a job because she stinks, due to a lack of a shower.

Darius struggles with his Christian faith and anger toward God. In another plot in the story, a teacher named Kevin Allen buys supplies out of his own pocket in order to help several of his students. His wife Terri doesn't understand this generosity and is angry with her husband until one day when one of his students drops by.

This movie features terrific acting by the principal actors, including Kelly O' Neil Jackson as Darius, Sharice Henry Chasi as Josey, Irma P. Hall as Ida Blackmon and Martin Ezelle as Mr. Allen. This story, penned and directed by M. Legend Brown, is a moving one which might cause a few viewers to reach for their Kleenex. One touching scene features Darius, who couldn't land one job because of his lack of steel-toed boots, receiving a voucher for boots. His reaction is priceless. The themes of persevering faith and strong family ties speak in inspiration to today's great societal needs.
